The Texas General Land Office is seeking a Project Manager III (Project Manager) within the Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) Department of the agency.
Performs complex (journey-level) project management work for the Texas General Land Office (GLO) Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) - Operations division. Work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of projects that vary in size, scope, level of complexity and completion. Monitor grant related projects, provides communication on project status, and leads projects and coordinates the initiation, authorization, and commitment to each project. Assigns duties and responsibilities to other staff in the coordination of project work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use on initiative and independent judgement.
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned may include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires the employee to primarily perform sedentary office work; however, mobility (moving around the worksite) is routinely required to carry out some duties. This position requires extensive computer, telephone and client/ customer contact and communication. It requires the ability to move and position oneself as needed for filing and similar routine office duties. The job also requires normal cognitive abilities requiring the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions. Ability to read printed materials and computer screens. The individual must be able to move and transport records, documents, boxes, and all related information and materials, weighing up to 20 pounds when required.

What Your Contributions To The GLO Will Be
- Provides Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) - Operations the development, management, and evaluation of new and ongoing projects at various stages in the project lifecycle utilizing accepted practices. Provides special project support to the Manager of Special Projects, and oversees projects related (varying degrees of length and complexity) to CDBG-Disaster Recovery and CDBG-Mitigation grants. Leads projects and coordinates the initiation, authorization, and commitment to each project.
- Assists CDR by coordinating, prioritizing, developing, and implementing training and staff development activities and presentations for CDR staff including but not limited to HUD specific training topics. Conducts CDR staff onboarding activities to include but not limited to an overview of division specific training, HUD required training, an introduction to the TIGR system and commonly used applications. Identifies and implements necessary changes or revisions to CDR staff onboarding materials.
- Performs multiple projects with varying degrees of length and complexity for multiple program areas. Assigns duties, responsibilities, and coordinates the work of project staff. Monitors and manages multiple projects to ensure target completion goals are met. Compiles and distributes project information and project status reports.
- Obtains subject matter expertise in TIGR, using it to create and complete all TIGR-related activities as required by CDR Management. Develops user manuals, tools, and work instructions related to TIGR specific tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field relevant to the assignment. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
- One (1) or more years of work in a professional setting.
- Experience in Public Speaking, for both large and small audiences.
- Experience in Management, Project Management, Supervising, or a similar skill set.
- Experience developing and hosting training sessions and events in person and virtually and producing any relevant materials for the training.
- Experience at an intermediate or higher level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in photography.
- Experience managing and coordinating contractors.
- Experience in professional/technical writing.
- Experience working with public figures.
- Experience engaging with the public by coordinating conference activities, travel, and/or recruitment events.
- Experience in the management or administration of grants.
