About the Role:
As a Medical Assistant & Medical Receptionist Float, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care by supporting both clinical and administrative functions across various departments within our practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to expand your skills and work with a diverse range of patients and medical specialties.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Medical Assistant Duties:
- Rooming patients, taking vital signs, and documenting medical history accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Assisting physicians and nurses with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administering injections and medications as directed by a physician.
- Performing phlebotomy and processing laboratory specimens.
- Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
- Providing patient education and instructions under the supervision of a physician or nurse.
- Managing and restocking examination rooms with necessary supplies.
- Maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Assisting with prior authorizations and referrals as needed.
Float Duties:
- Providing coverage and support in various clinical areas as needed, which may include different medical specialties or departments within our practice.
- Assisting with front office duties such as greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance when needed.
- Adapting quickly to different workflows and team needs.
- Maintaining a flexible and positive attitude.
- Ensuring seamless patient flow and efficient clinic operations across all assigned areas.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support the overall needs of the practice.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Medical Assistant certification or registration (e.g., CMA, RMA) is preferred.
- Proven clinical skills, including proficiency in taking vital signs, administering injections, and performing phlebotomy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (experience with NextGen is a plus).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility to work in different areas of the clinic as needed.
