What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler position at Texas Health Care PLCC?
- Sitting down with patients and their families during clinic hours to schedule dates/times for procedures (e.g. colonoscopies) and operations (surgeries).
- Scheduling radiology/imaging tests.
- Instructing patients on pre-operative requirements for lab work, bowel preparation, diet, etc.
- Pre-certification of procedures with insurance companies.
- Determining and collecting patient deductible/co-insurance prior to procedures.
- Coordinating procedures and communicating with hospital and surgery center scheduling departments.
- Calling patients prior to procedures to verify dates/times/facilities, and answer any patient questions.
Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
Ability to speak Spanish would be a definite asset.
Work Week - FT - 36-38 hours per week
