Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join our Houston, TX office. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment. This position is responsible for optimizing production volumes and supporting facility modifications across the company’s production assets. The position will work to oversee operations and production optimization for all wells, well facilities, gathering systems, and compressor facilities for the team. The candidate will work to drive maximum production and efficient operating costs through an operating practices review. This position involves mastery of the fundamentals of production engineering and field operations along the Gulf Coast and throughout numerous North American Shale basins.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for production surveillance to diagnose production enhancement opportunities and make recommendations for improving performance
- Responsible for overseeing daily gauger activity and production reporting
- Responsible for end-of-the-month production reporting to TX RRC and WY Regulatory Requirements on operated wells
- Responsible for Lease Operating Expense (LOE) improvement by providing technical and financial analysis support to field operations in efforts to control and reduce LOE
- Responsible for Lease Operating Expense (LOE) improvement by providing technical and financial analysis support to field operations in efforts to control and reduce LOE. Support the annual budget process for LOE
- Ability to develop and manage AFEs, ensuring cost control and timely project execution and reporting
- Ability to coordinate day-to-day Production Engineering field operations
- Support field operations with MOC evaluations and justifications
- Ensure safety, stakeholder communication, and effective project risk management
- Oversee third-party engineering/design efforts as needed
- Knowledge of reporting requirements in Pennsylvania is useful
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering
- 3 years of experience in upstream facilities design (Oil & Gas preferred)
- Expertise in onshore production facilities, gas compression, artificial lift, and gathering systems
- Experience with dry/rich gas processing and procurement/supply chain for projects
- Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated problem solving ability applicable to US Onshore facilities
- Demonstrated organizational and coordination abilities across multiple functional disciplines
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the engagement team
