SMART METER FIELD TECHNCIAN - Colorado Springs, CO
Are you open to a full-time, lucrative, project-based position expected to last about 4 months?
Our project is ramping up staffing to complete this project.
Wages: $24/hr to $39/hr Average and UNCAPPED after training
Training: Paid Training provided at $20/hr
Hours: Generally 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday – Friday, overtime when required; some exceptions may apply
Requirements:
· Reside in the Colorado Springs, CO metro area
· Be 21 years of age (BFOQ due to insurance requirements)
· Pass a drug test and background check
· Have a good driving record, valid drivers license and 3 years of personal or professional driving experience

· Learn and follow processes and procedures exactly
· Commitment to safety, quality and production goals
· Mechanical aptitude

Job Responsibilities:
· Successfully complete shop and field training
· Competently and consistently complete assigned field exchanges - focus is now on water meter modules and pits.
· Follow established processes, procedures and safety requirements exactly
· Safely drive and operate a service truck
· Courteous Interaction with customers
· Precise entry of field data and work order completion on handheld
· Meet minimum production standards
· Show up to work on time every day
Strong preference will be given to applicants with established field experience and good mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities include:
· Exchanging residential and commercial class electric meters
· Retrofitting residential and commercial class gas modules
· Replacing residential and commercial class water modules
· Use a work order management system to capture site data
· Maintain accurate records of work completed
· Oversee the materials, equipment, vehicle and tools
· Keep track of new and used inventory
· Proper use of an iPad to collect new meter data
· Manages daily client communications, data and reporting
· Coordinating, scheduling and meeting quality / quantity requirements
· Provide courteous and excellent internal and external customer service
· The safe and proper use of a TMD service vehicle
· Other duties and tasks as assigned or necessary
Requirements:
· Mechanical aptitude is necessary
· Ability to use hand held computing device and other equipment as required for the position
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Ability to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time. The work is performed outdoors and through inclement weather as necessary
· Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner

· Previous electrical and plumbing experience preferred but not required
· Good Communication Skills (speaking, reading and writing)
· Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
· Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience due to insurance requirements
· Must have steel or composite toe work boots
· Must have own personal Smart phone
· Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by law
Shift and Pay Info:
- Classroom and Field training rate is $20.00/hr.
- Fully trained PIECE RATE averaging between $20-$40 per hour depending on production.
- End of Project Bonus between $1000.00 to $2500.00 CAN be earned based on the following criteria:
- Safety
- Quality
- Production
- Attendance
- Generally Monday – Friday, with possible Saturday work required at times to support the Project schedule
- Work hours are 8 hours between 7am – 5pm…Typically 7:00am to 3:30pm with 1/2 hour lunch
