Position Overview
This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of claims systems including leading projects related to system upgrades, process optimization, report creation, and data analysis to streamline claims operations and improve efficiency. It is responsible for providing and managing internal business reporting, departmental process improvements, and defining functional technology business requirements to support claims business functions. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of department operations.
Required Responsibilities*
Collaborates with management and staff to identify key strategies, initiatives, and performance metrics that enhance claims operations.
Works cross-functionally with teams and individuals throughout the organization to support ongoing projects and ensure smooth implementation.
Provides technical support to system end users, addressing issues and troubleshooting system-related challenges.
Responsible for creating requirements detailing analysis of new and updated functionality, as well as defective functionality, for discussion and prioritization with the project team to determine if they can be addressed with or without a code change.
Continuously analyzes system workflows, maintaining business specifications for those systems, and making recommendations for streamlining and improving business processes and procedures. Initiates interviews with stakeholders.
Manages departmental user acceptance testing processes.
Manages complex technical integrations and works with both internal and external partners when issues arise.
Requests appropriate system access for users, including by testing, requesting, and validating system access.
Analyzes workflows and makes recommendations for streamlining or improving business processes and procedures.
Oversees departmental claims reporting, including the preparation and analysis of quarterly trends for board reports.

Physical Requirements
Be able to withstand typical office work that includes periods of sitting, standing, typing, etc. indoors while potentially performing job tasks in close proximity to other people.
In addition to typical office work, must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
Requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, visual inspection, assembly of parts, or extensive reading.
Ability to have a flexible work schedule to meet business needs, be on call 24x7, and be at work on-site during specified or core hours.
Must be able to operate standard computer hardware.
Education, Work Experience, Certifications**
Required
B.A. or B.S. degree in related field
Years of Experience: 5-7
Area of Experience: Business Analysis, Insurance, Systems and Processes Analysis
Preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt (6σGB) trained and certified
