New Accounts Representative
Performs a variety of professional account services to the bank’s customers and accurately and efficiently completes customer transactions. Interview customers to obtain information needed for opening accounts according to applicable regulatory requirements. Inform customers of procedures and requirements for opening different types of accounts and applying for services. Compile information, enter account information into the computer and create necessary forms and/or documents to open the account. Refer customers to other appropriate Bank personnel for assistance as needed, following Customer Service Standards.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Keep up-to-date on Bank product knowledge and be able to explain in detail all Bank products and services to customers.
- Open all types of new accounts offered by the Bank.
- Provide deposit interest rate information in-person and over the telephone.
- Provide information regarding different account ownership types.
- Update and process all documents pertaining to new and existing accounts.
- Answer telephones and transfer calls to the appropriate person following Customer Service Standards.
- Initiate orders for debit cards and perform data entry for card maintenance.
- Process documentation and perform data entry for closed, lost, stolen or destroyed ATM/Classic cards.
- Process check orders.
- Process documentation for new accounts.
Required Skills:

- Ability to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports.
- Ability to efficiently operate a PC, calculator, telephone, typewriter, fax machine, copier and other office equipment.
Desired Skills:
- Prior banking experience.
- Basic accounting skills related to debits and credits.
- Experience with teller machine.
- Ability to work independently and as a team with excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of personal computer and related word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Knowledge of various banking departments
Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
