Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Emergency Services to lead our Emergency Department (ED) at a leading healthcare facility in Tallahassee, FL. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality patient care, operational excellence, and strategic growth within the ED.
As the Director of Emergency Services, you will:
Oversee the daily operations of a 34-bed ED, handling an average of 130 patients daily.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient experience, staff engagement, and departmental efficiency.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
Manage a team of ~45 FTEs, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Drive performance improvement initiatives and mentor future leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and improve key performance metrics, including patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians, staff, and hospital leadership to achieve organizational goals.
Support recruitment, training, and development of ED staff.
Manage departmental budgets, resources, and capital equipment requests.
Promote a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Licensure: Current RN license in Florida or compact state.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC required.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of recent acute care ED leadership experience in a large hospital setting. Proven track record of improving metrics and patient experience.
