About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Med Surg Telemetry RN to lead a 44-bed med/surg telemetry unit in a fast-paced acute care hospital. This role also oversees a 12-bed transition unit (currently inactive but may reopen). As the leader of this team, you’ll manage 59 direct reports , including Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Techs, and support staff. You’ll ensure exceptional patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with quality standards while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
✔️ Administer, analyze, and appraise the care given to patients within the department.
✔️ Advise senior leadership on budgetary projections, quality improvement processes, and future needs to enhance patient care.
✔️ Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and mentor staff to achieve high-quality care delivery.
✔️ Lead, supervise, and manage personnel resources effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and productivity.
✔️ Support and maintain an environment that promotes quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel.
✔️ Participate in unit-based Quality Improvement initiatives and actively seek ways to control costs without compromising patient safety or care quality.
✔️ Serve as a patient and family advocate, protecting privacy and confidentiality.
✔️ Evaluate and document patient responses, recognizing changes in physiological and psychosocial status, and take appropriate action.
✔️ Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and report potential patient safety issues through established systems.
Qualifications
Active RN License (Florida license, multistate, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start).
2–3 Years of Recent Acute Care Leadership Experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager) in med/surg, telemetry, ICU, PCU, stepdown, or inpatient rehab.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required within 30 days of hire.
Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree Required | BSN Preferred.
