JOB SUMMARY:
The IT Specialist II supports a blend of desktop support and system administration responsibilities. This includes providing desktop support, assisting with new hire onboarding setups, and maintaining information systems. System administration includes Windows and Linux system administration on a hyperconverged virtualization platform, and implementing and maintaining cybersecurity tools and monitoring cybersecurity systems. The position may require occasional travel by personal automobile or commercial aircraft to fulfill job responsibilities. The incumbent will handle confidential materials and must adhere strictly to TOSA's confidentiality policy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Manage incoming help desk requests from end users via telephone, email, or help desk website in a courteous and timely manner.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and fixes at the desktop level, including software installations, hardware upgrades, and system configurations.
- Support the setup and deployment of new computers, printers, and other peripherals for staff.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on workstations, printers, and peripherals, including cleaning and routine checkups.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of Active Directory, including user account setups and permissions.
- Install and operate endpoint protection, encryption, and other security software to ensure the safety of devices and data.
- Monitor and maintain physical and virtual servers, ensuring performance and uptime.
- Access online resources to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
- Support end-user onboarding by setting up accounts, devices, and access permissions.
- Apply network diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues.
- Assist in creating, maintaining, and updating IT policies and user guides.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless support for organizational technology needs.
- Manage and maintain the iTransplant Database permissions, ensuring its accuracy and functionality.
- Provide support for Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI platforms.
- Assist with developing and delivering staff training on IT best practices, including cybersecurity and device usage.
- Support compliance efforts with internal and external regulatory requirements related to IT operations.
- Assist and support in maintaining and updating the TOSA website as required.
- Communicate effectively with organizational staff and external client organizations.
- Participate in departmental and organizational meetings as required.
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with internal staff as well as representatives of external entities as needed.
