Position Summary:
Based in Madisonville, Texas, the Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant performs general bookkeeping duties for the Chief Financial Officer including: processing invoices, taking payment from customers, paying vendors, daily bank deposits, filing, preparing correspondence, copying, and mailing. This client position helps create a helpful, friendly, positive environment for clients and co-workers.
This job cannot be completed or done remotely under any circumstance
Every other Saturday will be required (usually no more than 4 hours)
Also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by the Owner and Chief Financial Officer.
Main Job Duties:
- Apple Computers are used within the company and having or willing to get an iPhone is required
- Create customer invoices/enter customer receipts, receive payments, and apply to customer accounts in QuickBooks
- Proactively investigate and resolve past due vendor/customer balances
- Prepare dailey bank deposits
- Daily incoming mail processing
- Maintain/oversee resident petty cash accounts, company petty cash accounts
- Process vendor invoices for entry into QuickBooks weekly check runs
- Provide outstanding customer service to both internal contacts as well as customers and vendors
- Other responsibilities as assigned i.e., filing, mail, reception desk back-up coverage, etc.
- High degree of accuracy, organization, thoroughness, and attention to detail required
- Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, as this position is in constant contact with both customers and other employees
- Must have good people skills and enjoy working with and helping others
- Hands-on, self-starter who can work independently and under minimal supervision
- Exhibit a professional attitude and appearance, the ability to work independently, and exceptional attention to detail
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college
- QuickBooks: Minimum 3 years (Required)
- Bookkeeping: Minimum 3 years (Required)
