Position Description
The College of Science and Engineering at Texas State University has a highly successful and broad-based electronic materials research enterprise encompassing most of the commercially relevant semiconductor materials systems. Commercial applications include power electronics, broadband wireless amplifiers, opto-electronic devices, solar cell devices, magnetic devices, superconductor quantum computing devices, and novel semiconductor sensors among others. Our current electronic materials research faculty are highly innovative and are overseeing cutting-edge funded projects to develop and advance semiconductor materials' properties to enable novel device performance. In partnership with TIE, the university is using funding from the Chips Act to develop technologies and workforce for semiconductor manufacturing.
The College of Science and Engineering invites applications for two tenure-track positions at a rank ofAssistant / Associate Professor who will engage and collaborate with our electronic materials faculty to innovate and produce state-of-the-art semiconductor devices by being aligned with one or more of the following research areas : semiconductor manufacturing, growth device modeling, design, fabrication, and / or testing. Appointments at Professor rank may be considered for exceptional applicants.
The successful candidates will be expected to :
- Increase the research capabilities of the College of Science and Engineering in semiconductor devices, device simulation, and / or design, novel processing, materials, and / or manufacturing
- Exhibit a strong commitment to student-centered teaching and advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Participate in curriculum and program development
- Build partnerships with external stakeholders, including industry professionals, government agencies, and corporations
- Perform professional and university service
- Have experience in one or more of the following :
Novel semiconductor device design and fabrication
