Position Description
The Department of Physicsseeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need.
This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2024/2025 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration as the need arises.
All positions are subject to the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a master’s degree in Physics or a closely related life science field.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
An earned Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related life science field.
Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses as the instructor of record
