Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- Current LVN license in good standing issued by the state of Texas or by Nurse Licensure Compact Administration.
- Minimum of one year of LVN experience working in a clinical setting with direct patient care duties.
- Experience documenting in electronic medical records systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct patient care nursing experience in a family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, hospital emergency department or college health setting within the last 5 years.
- Experience documenting in eClinical Works
- Current BLS or ACLS certification.
Job Description
Texas State University Health Services is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to assist physician or nurse practitioner at its ambulatory health care facility serving college students. Responsible for providing nursing care, treatment, and health education for Texas State students.
Job Duties
Responsibilities include nursing care of patients in an outpatient primary care setting that includes general medicine, women’s health, sports medicine, urgent care and mental health services. Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) assist a team of medical providers with patient treatments, office procedures, patient follow-up, prescription refills, telephone messages and other duties as assigned.
