Position Description : The Department of Communication Studies at Texas State University invites applications for two positions : One Assistant Professor Position and One Assistant / Associate Professor Position. Both positions are in rhetoric, politics, and culture with one position specializing in political communication and the second specializing in media criticism. These positions will involve teaching, research, and service responsibilities. Employment would begin August 2025.
Rank and title will be assigned by the college using department and university standards.
All positions are subject to the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications :
- PhD in Communication Studies or Communication-related field
- Preparedness in teaching undergraduate and graduate rhetorical methods
- One position will require clear specialization in research and preparedness to teach political communication.
- One position will require clear specialization in research and preparedness to teach media criticism.
- Demonstrated record of service to department, university, profession, and / or communities
