- A graduate degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or a closely related field with coursework in American architectural history or a bachelor's degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or a related field plus one of the following :
a minimum of 2 years of full-time professional experience applying the theories, methods and practices of architectural history that enables professional judgements to be made about the identification, evaluation, documentation, registration, or treatment of historic properties in the United States and its territories; or

Job Description
This position is located at Fort Knox, Kentucky, which is located just south of Louisville, Kentucky. Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky and is a cultural, entertainment, and sporting hub for the area. The primary objective of this position is to provide scientific and technical skills pertaining to the implementation of the Fort Knox cultural resources program. This work will involve the completion of field and administrative tasks, the collection and management of environmental data, interacting with the public and military personnel, and documenting resources and preparing reports for the Kentucky Heritage Council that are in compliance with the State Level Documentation of Historic Properties standards.
Job Duties
We are seeking an architectural historian at Fort Knox who will provide technical support for the installation's cultural resources program and conduct research of historic buildings / sites inventory through inventories, site evaluations, and monitoring of historic sites and structures at Fort Knox. The team member will be a qualified architectural historian that meets the Secretary of Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation, Professional Qualifications Standards (as published in 36CFR Part 61 and the Federal Register 48 : 44738-447390). The team member will also meet the Kentucky Heritage Council's (KHC) professional standards for architectural history.
