Position Summary
The Consumer Loan Officer (CLO) is the lending services expert for Texas Tech CU. This role has been designed to create and consistently deliver excellent member experience by competently representing and implementing Texas Tech CU financial services and adding value through consumer products. The CLO’s core authority rests in his/her ability to shape the Texas Tech CU brand by meeting service expectations and excelling at product knowledge, problem solving, and member service
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve Texas Tech CU members and co-workers pleasantly and professionally in accordance with Texas Tech CU core values of Trust, Respect, Excellence, Kindness, and Stewardship.
- Represent Texas Tech Credit Union to all current members, vendors, business partners and future members in a courteous, professional manner and provide an example that encourages positive continued relationships and community partnerships.
- Answer member requests, inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely, effective, and kind manner whether received in-person, online, or by telephone.
- Promote Texas Tech CU financial products and services.
- Provide current and future members with information and advisement on consumer loan products to include lines of credit, credit cards, personal loans, and auto loans; assertively cross-sell ancillary products for all loan requests.
- Educate and advise current and future members on financial wellness, investment products, and opportunities for deposit accounts.
- Work to achieve production and volume goals as set forth by the Management Team.
- Process, close, disburse loans and obtain Senior Limit approval when needed.
- Provide member and internal employee support by answering questions related to consumer products and individual member accounts, loans, and credit cards; provide support by redirecting internal or external customer to the appropriate resource for additional information or assistance when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to minimize CIP and loan exceptions, protect member information, and maintain member confidence.
- Promote deposit growth by cross-selling direct deposit opportunities with our Consumer Banking team
- Maintain Performance Expectations
- CLOs are expected to close with an average production volume of $1,000,000.00 or 40 units per month. Performance is reviewed monthly to ensure expectations are met and shortfalls are addressed.
Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications
- Two years of consumer lending experience preferred.
- Two years of sales/production experience preferred; cross-selling, needs based sales experience, and customer service experience preferred.
- Three years of credit union or banking experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate consistently and effectively, skilled at managing expectations for members and business partners.
- Maintain excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Must be a strong and resourceful problem-solver possessing keen attention to detail.
