Position Summary

The IT Manager is responsible for the execution, implementation, and management of the credit union's technology infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of IT systems and services, including networks, servers, storage, and data centers. The IT Manager is a working manager and will lead a team of IT professionals, fostering collaboration and ensuring the infrastructure supports the organization’s goals while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements. Additionally, the IT Manager will act as a project lead, coordinating cross-functional efforts to deliver technology solutions on time as defined by the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Execute and implement strategic plans to support the credit union's objectives.
• Research and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
• Stay informed about the latest system releases, updates, and industry best practices to drive innovation.
• Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of servers, networks, storage, and other IT infrastructure components.
• Monitor and manage security systems, tools, and controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint security solutions.
• Ensure system uptime, disaster recovery planning, and change management through proactive scheduling, testing, and monitoring
• Coordinate and perform after-hours/weekend patches and upgrades to minimize disruptions to operations.
• Implement and manage security measures to safeguard sensitive financial data.
• Maintain and update policies and procedures for systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure alignment with credit union objectives and regulations.
• Manage and mentor the IT infrastructure and support teams, fostering professional growth and alignment with organizational goals.
• Assign tasks, manage projects, and monitor team performance to achieve objectives.
• Share knowledge with team members and promote a culture of continuous learning.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, management, and external vendors to ensure alignment on business strategies.
• Lead infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Support the implementation of new credit union products and services, including testing and documentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and changes to facilitate transparency and future reference.
• Prepare and present reports on system performance, risks, and project status to leadership.
• Address user issues and provide timely support to enhance overall user experience.
• Conduct user training sessions to promote efficient utilization of technology.
• On-call as necessary.

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience in infrastructure, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in financial services environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of networking, security, virtualization, storage, and cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in tools and technologies such as VMware, Microsoft Azure, Fortinet, and SAN/NAS storage systems.
• Strong understanding of financial platforms, applications, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of system governance.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
