This position is responsible for reviewing requisitions, ordering, and sending purchase orders for all non-stock items needed for the hospital. Accurate and timely follow-up on any backorder situations or price changes. The Buyer is also in a back-up role as a buyer for the warehouse and the General Stores stock. Buyers should be prepared to confirm, follow-up and track all requests from requisition to receipt. Buyers will have the responsibility to research purchase requests, check correct pricing and shipping terms and invoice reconciliation. Demonstrates positive, appropriate and timely communication to the departments and director daily.
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years experience in purchasing.
Must have computer literacy with Microsoft Office skills, good interpersonal skills, keyboarding & independent decisions, making sound judgment. Must be self-managing and able to copy in high stress load environments with multiple tasks. Ability to negotiate pricing agreements and complete financial cost analysis.

Associate or Bachelor Degree in Business or related field preferred or two additional years of buyer experience.
