Position Description
We are currently seeking a Commercial Landscaping Business Development / Sales Manager – Multi-family Channel for our operations in the Houston area. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with the ability to keep a positive attitude under pressure while juggling multiple priorities. The Business Development / Sales Manager will partner with Sales, Marketing, and other functional groups to develop and implement processes and practices which leverage business intelligence into enhanced business performance and drive revenue growth, specifically in the Mult-family sector.
- Develop Multi-family account contacts and prospects to ensure long-term
profitability for the company and its customers through cold-calling, market
research, and internal lead development
- Interface with District Managers and Account Managers to develop, present and
negotiate the recommended portfolio of services to ensure profitability and
customer satisfaction
- Manage opportunities through Salesforce to provide visibility of sales efforts to
management
- Generate job estimates/bid proposals, including scope of work, accurate site
boundaries and measurements, as well as estimates of labor and materials in
cooperation with operations
- Reply to client Requests for Proposal in a timely and professional manner
- Attend RFP pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations
- Maintain relationships with key clients to seek out and take advantage of
opportunities for networking and additional sales generation
- Attend staff and sales meetings to assess business opportunities and ensure
mutual understanding of the company’s strategic focus
- Facilitate contact with existing and potential clients via trade shows, association
events, and meetings
- Manage sales promotions budget
- Ensure a smooth transition from contract signing to contract fulfillment by
facilitating introductory meetings and site walk-throughs between client and
operations
- Meet or exceed established annual sales targets
- Other duties as assigned
A minimum of 5 years of related Sales/Business Development experience, with at least 3 years of B2B Commercial sales selling to Multi-family accounts. Landscaping Services Sales experience is not necessary, but is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong customer service
- Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) and/or other relevant licenses or
certifications are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Horticulture, Soil Science,
Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, or other Landscape/Turf
Management degree-type is a plus
- Intermediate understanding of CRM software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience working the Multi-family commercial property managers a plus
- Ability to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel
extensively within assigned territory
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid

- Pay range: $70,000 - $90,000 (base salary)
- Up to 6% commission paid on applicable sales (not including sales tax and subs)
