Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for moving raw materials and finished goods to and from production areas to support the manufacturing processes
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Moves materials and products using forklifts and other equipment.
- Sorts and stores inventory.
- Maintains warehouse standards and protocol, ensuring areas are kept clean and organized.
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain inventory records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment, such as forklifts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with teammates and direct reports.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines.
- Self-motivated and willingness to take initiative.
- Intermediate working knowledge of PC environment and MS Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook and other inventory management software.
- Strong leadership skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school degree or GED.
- Minimum of 1 years of previous experience in inventory management, warehouse, or distribution centers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as reach, climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to visually operate office equipment including computers and monitors.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs.
