The summer Automation Engineer internship is designed to give a student hands-on exposure to day-to-day operations and assist with projects and research that provide opportunity to support the growth of the organization and add positive impact. The Automation Engineer Intern duties may include:
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues in automated systems and processes.
- Implement corrective actions to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Analyze existing automation processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall system performance.
- Lead and participate in the development of new automation projects. This includes designing, testing, and deploying automated solutions to meet business needs.
- Ensure the reliability and quality of automated systems through rigorous testing and validation. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance and operations, to ensure seamless integration and operation of automated systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of automation processes, troubleshooting activities, and project developments. Prepare reports and presentations for management review.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in automation. Proactively seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Must be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, industrial technology or another related field. Ideally targeting graduation 2026.
- GPA of 3.5 or above
- Possess strong leadership, data analytics, organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a critical thinker and problem solver.
- Self-directed, results-oriented and customer focused.
- Strong Computer Science skills and proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel etc.).
- Prefer ERP experience – but not essential.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
