The Food Safety Manager is a key member of the management team and is accountable for the company’s overall food safety and quality program, ensuring production of safe and high-quality confectionary food and honey butter products for our customers and clients. This individual is responsible for ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are in full compliance with all regulatory bodies, food certification requirements and company standards. The Food Safety Manager role is responsible for the development, documentation, and implementation of the Quality Assurance systems and programs.
Job Description
The FSQA Manager is accountable for the company’s overall food safety program and will act as the SQF Practitioner. In this role, it will be your responsibility to ensure that food safety, sanitation and, quality standards are compliant with all regulatory bodies, company standards and SQF requirements. Applicants must enjoy working closely with others to assure that food safety is always a priority while keeping a friendly and professional demeanor. Prior experience in a food safety role is preferred, but we are willing to train, depending on background and experience!
This is an active job where you will be on your feet, walking, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling etc. If you are bi-lingual (English-Spanish), this skill would also be a huge plus for us, but is not a requirement.
Duties would Include but would not be limited to:
· Maintaining a thorough understanding of GMP, SQF, and FDA regulations and requirements
· Overseeing everything related to our SQF, GMP, HACCP and FSMA programs including: reviewing, maintaining, improving and implementing food safety plans
· Developing and/or revising SOP’s
· Maintaining meticulous records and logs and train others to do the same
· Regularly validating team compliance
· Working with Production Managers to address and prevent quality control and
food safety issues
· Conducting regular internal food safety audits and mock recalls
· Initiating and implement corrective actions when needed
· Must have excellent analytical skills with close attention to detail
· Provide positive training to team members on GMP’s, HACCP, and CCP’s
· Take the lead on all third party and government inspections, both planned and unplanned
· Maintain compliance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
· Knowledge of Excell and Google Sheets
