Position Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations of wells including, but not limited to: monitoring well performance, planning and overseeing workover and facility projects, maximizing recovery, minimizing operating expenses, and optimizing artificial-lift and pipeline systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for collaborating with completions, land, and marketing to ensure parent well value is preserved from infill development through offset well planning. Responsibilities
• Monitor production operations, costs, and profitability. Study area for additional development from a workover, recompletion, and surface optimization perspective.
• Monitor operating expenses with field superintendents and foreman to identify and control high-cost areas to maintain lifting cost at the lowest possible level.
• Prepare AFE’s and procedures for workovers, recompletions, and facilities projects.
• Review all expenditures for properties within a specified area.
• Analyze production problems and direct actions to be taken.
• Equipment selection for wells; surface and downhole.
• Assure compliance with governmental regulations and company policies.
• Monitor well tests and production volumes to maintain and improve production
• Work closely with reservoir and geology to develop behind pipe reserves.
• Be proficient in artificial lift and implement cost effective artificial lift mechanisms.
• Interact daily with production superintendents, production foremen, well site supervisors, and regulatory agency personnel to carry out effective well work and facility projects.
• Work well within team environment in both office and field.
• Work with superintendents, foreman, and operators to perform annual well reviews.
• Work closely with surface ops, marketing, and land to plan downtime on weekly basis.
• Work closely with land department to ensure land requirements are upheld on all projects.
• Occasional travel to the field. Engineers are encouraged to visit field monthly if possible.
Requirements
Qualifications
• BS in Petroleum Engineering preferred. Mechanical, Chemical, and Civil Engineering considered.
• 3-7 years of production/operations experience. Field experience is a plus.
• Experience in the following areas: oil and gas production operations, workovers/recompletions, surface facilities, new well completions and P&L evaluation/optimization.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient computer skills
• Capable of working effectively and willingly in a team environment.
• Interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Proven track record in EHS activities
• Completion and artificial lift design and implementation in conventional and unconventional assets, with an emphasis in horizontal wells.
Additional Skills:
• Completions experience with horizontal wells in conventional and unconventional assets is a plus.
• Facilities experience with SWD wells, producing wells, facilities, and surface operations is a plus.
• Ability to navigate and generate economic analysis with Aries is preferred.
