We are seeking passionate and experienced coaches to join our team and help us grow our TGA Pickleball program in Nassau County, Long Island. TGA has been in the youth sports business for over 22 years and has been recognized as the largest operating program in the US.
Coaches can work *5-25 classes a week, earn $25 per hr., and can earn up to $50 per hr. * Subject to availability and performance*
Ideal candidates will have a good understanding of pickleball rules, strategies, and techniques. They will also be able to effectively communicate with players of all ages/levels and help them develop their skills and reach their goals. In addition to coaching, we are looking for someone to build/grow a staff of coaches so we can expand the number of locations we offer pickleball!
Responsibilities
- Teach pickleball lessons to players of all ages and skill levels
- Implement pickleball lesson plans
- Provide feedback and assess player progress
- Organize and pickleball clinics and tournaments
- Promote pickleball in the community
- Recruit, hire, and train additional coaches (if necessary)

- Our Coaches use a non-competitive approach so ensure classes are fun and we create a stress-free environment
- Our Coaches use positive reinforcement to encourage children to do better and celebrate success
- And finally, our coaches have a blast. They are open-minded and know that coaching is a continuous journey. All Coaches are open to feedback and strive to be better by attending monthly trainings and follow the TGA Coaching Manual.
THE SCHEDULE:
The majority of classes are held during the after-school hours and on weekends. The ideal candidate would have the availability on some of the days and times listed below:
- Monday-Friday (Times): 3:00-6:00 p.m.
- Weekends: (Times) 9:00 a.m-12:00 p.m.
THE LOCATION:
Classes are held across schools, parks, and recreational centers in Nassau County. Coaches are expected to travel up to 30 minutes to get to a class location.
Requirements
- Certified instructor (CPT) or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching tennis and/or pickleball
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of tennis and/or pickleball rules, strategies, and techniques
- Ability to motivate and inspire players of all levels
- Passion for tennis and/or pickleball and a desire to share your knowledge with others
