Our property management client is looking for a Property Accountant for their rapidly growing business in Stillwater, MN. This is a full-time, on-site role.
This company is in the storage business, is nationwide and expanding like crazy. They have been in business for 50 years!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, P&L) and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank, cash disbursement, payroll, and customer accounts.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling receivables and payables, and handling fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare transaction reports before settlement.
- Approve financial transactions within designated limits.
- Investigate and correct errors in financial entries and reports.
- Recommend improvements for accounting reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- Assist external auditors with required documentation for annual audits.
- Prepare and file tax forms with government agencies.
- Install, modify, and document accounting controls; ensure compliance with GAAP and company procedures.
- Coordinate with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting systems.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of accounting experience in property management/real estate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with Yardi a HUGE plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively.
SALARY: $68-$75K per year, full benefits
