LAB DIRECTOR
DIRECT HIRE ROLE
Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all Mix Design, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Research & Development efforts.
Core Responsibilities:
Mix Design
- Oversee and participate in Mix Designs for Hot and Cold Mix Asphalt
- Manage Recipe Portfolio / Maintain JMF Submittals
Quality Control
- Build and manage daily testing plan at each Asphalt Plant to manage the quality of the following:
- Virgin Aggregate
- Unprocessed RAP
- Processed RAP
- Additives
- Asphalt Binder (AC)
- Plant Recipe Files
Quality Assurance
- Complete Internal and Regulatory testing on completed Asphalt (some examples /metrics listed below)
- Gradation
- Binder Content / Performance Grade
- Air Voids / Moisture / Mix Temperature
- Performance Testing
- Density / Compaction / Workability
- Visit Active job sites to verify quality
- Visit completed customer projects to monitor long term quality of Pavement Materials
Research & Development
- Generate and Execute research projects to reduce COGS, increase mix quality, increase sustainability, boost recycled content and help grow new product lines
Additional Duties:
- Oversee Field Density testing on paving sites
- Oversee Coring of asphalt for analysis
- Manage applicable grant reporting obligations associated with Lab activities
- Update and enforce SOPs to be used by all Lab personnel
