Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of People and Culture who will serve as both a strategic HR partner and a cultural steward within our organization. This individual will have the unique opportunity to shape and maintain the organizational culture while ensuring robust human resources practices that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, clinical, and frontline teams, to provide guidance on employee relations, legal compliance, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The position will remain open until successfully filled.
Requirements
A day in the position could include:
- Administer benefits, compensation programs, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Manage and provide support in employee relations investigations, counseling, improvement plans, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Ensure all employee matters are handled professionally, consistently and fairly with an empathetic approach.
- Develop and execute initiatives to increase employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention through activities such as surveys, feedback loops, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
- Collaborate with leadership to align culture-building and employee experience efforts with organizational values and strategic goals.
- Work closely with operational, clinical, and frontline teams to ensure that HR and cultural strategies are aligned with department-specific needs.
- Partner with department leaders to address specific challenges, improve communication, and support their teams’ growth and development.
- Foster a strong sense of community and cohesion across departments, ensuring all staff are valued, respected, and heard.
- Identify and implement training and coaching programs to improve leadership capabilities, team dynamics, and employee performance across all departments.
- Support managers and employees in career development, providing coaching and development opportunities to promote continuous learning and growth.
- Measure the effectiveness of employee engagement initiatives, HR policies, and culture-building efforts.
- Report on key HR and culture metrics to leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field, required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, with a strong focus on employee relations and culture development, required
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience working collaboratively across departments and managing HR operations in a diverse, multi-disciplinary environment, required
- Minimum of 5 years knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and a passion for building and sustaining a positive organizational culture, required
- Strong communication (Verbally and written), interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, required
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving work environment while maintaining a positive focus on employee experience and engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred
- Experience in healthcare, clinical settings, or frontline operations is highly preferred
Work Conditions & Work Schedule:
- This job operates in a professional medical office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- FLSA salaried exempt status
- Sedentary, sitting for extended periods of time
- Trave required throughout all clinic and worksite clinic locations
- Typically, Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm, 40 hours per week, on premise requirement with potential for afterhours or weekend events/meetings
- Strong understanding of effective pivoting communication styles using different lines of communication: phone, email, Share Point, and use of Teams chat
