Description
Principal Duty
Application Engineer I‘s are responsible for the technical application of TGW products and third-party equipment to complete a mechanical system design during the quotation phase of a project. The AE-I is also responsible for costing the TGW products which are then used in the wider cost estimation.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Focus on low complexity designs of the mechatronic material handling layouts through collaboration with solutions team, from intial concept to final contract design, using the TGW product portfolio and 3rd party equipment.
- Train on the TGW Product Portfolio and 3rd Party items to build technical knowledge of MHE Systems.
- Present and develop concepts during internal discussions to create optomized solutions that best fit the customer requirements.
- Develop design skills to support AE-II, AE-III and Snr. AE’s with larger more complex projects.
- Create mechanical costing quotation for both TGW Products and 3rd Party Items, for use in the complete project estimator.
- Use engineering knowledge to perform performance calculations for the system to ensure that the selected equipment meets the specified target rates.
Requirements Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and 3D CAD Programs
- Preferred skills: AutoCAD (2D) & Sketchup\
- Willingness to travel domestically for customer visits (less than 10%)
