Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team! The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology, with a focus on civil litigation law. This role involves supporting attorneys in various tasks, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely while maintaining an efficient workflow within the office.

Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including contracts and pleadings.
Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation.
Ability to proofread and format documents.
Prepare discoveries and pleadings.
Keep meticulous log of incoming and outgoing mail.
Calendar court dates and important tasks.
Organize and file legal documents.
Prepare case files for meetings, depositions, hearings and trials.
Manage case files and maintain organized records for easy retrieval.
Perform data entry tasks to ensure all information is accurately documented.
Draft correspondence and other legal documents as required.
Coordinate project management tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status.
Experience:
Minimum of (3) years’ experience in civil litigation, trust, real estate, estate planning or employment law.
Familiarity with civil litigation law is a major plus.
Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent writing skills with attention to detail.
Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Experience with legal research
Education:
Paralegal Certificate is a must
Bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required.
Software:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
