Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our cabinet manufacturing team. The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining woodworking machinery used in the production of cabinets. This role requires precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure high-quality cabinet components.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
- Supply raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
- Conduct tests to check the operation of machines? on a regular basis.
- Troubleshoot issues that might occur during the shift.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and production specifications.
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines and ensure machines are operated safely to prevent accidents.
- Preventative and daily maintenance of machines (including tooling changes)
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality and reducing waste.
- Keep a clean and safe work area.
- Contribute to a Teamwork environment through communication and training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Previous experience operating woodworking or CNC machines in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Must display an ability to fully run assigned machines independently and efficiently.
- Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, cut sheets and patterns, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations.
- Ability to load cut patterns into computer.
- Ability to recognize parts being produced.
- Knowledge of the different wood species and melamine sheet goods
- Ability to work independently and maintain efficiency.
- Proficient in Factory Track use
- Basic assessment of Equipment Health with visual inspections of tooling and field replaceable components due to wear, i.e. rollers, gaskets.
Education or formal training: High School diploma or GED
Experience - Must have prior machine operator experience for 3 months or more
Equipment: Beam saw, edge bander, CNC, dowel tech, Store
Physical Activities and Safety: 90% standing, 10% walking - Must be able to lift 75 lbs and able to shift 100lbs
