The Manufacturing Draftsman produces designs that ensure product proposals are in line with Boulder Mills' design criteria. This position will ensure that designs are available and manufacturable, as well as suggest improvements in design proposals based on various factors such as practicality, costs, and component technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed, manufacturable drawings and production reports using Microvellum and CAD software.
- Evaluate project feasibility and ensure designs meet Boulder Mills’ standards for safety, quality, and manufacturability.
- Facilitate communication and project handoffs between Sales, Project Management, and Production.
- Prepare and organize complete drawing sets for submittals, including floor plans, product codes, and specifications.
- Prioritize drafting tasks according to production schedules and shipping deadlines.
- Update drawings based on field measurements, client feedback, and project revisions.
- Compile and submit finalized drawing packages using Bluebeam.
- Maintain and improve drafting processes based on feedback from production, project management, and installation teams.
- Support ongoing software updates and engineering documentation improvements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficient Computer skills – Win 10, Office suites including Exchange, Excel, and Word.

- Experience with CAD or drafting programs such as Cabinet Vision, AutoCad, SolidWorks, Micro Valem, 20/20
- Design experience
- Microvellum experience
- Bluebeam experience
- Cabinet manufacturing experience
Licenses Needed: N/a
Experience:
- 1-year direct work experience in project or construction management preferred but not required
- Knowledge of construction and general contracting
- Engineering/CAD experience
Physical Activities and Safety: 90% sitting, 10% walking - Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must strictly adhere to company safety policy, including wearing safety glasses where required.
