What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic position at Thayer Infrastructure Services (TIS) and its affiliated companies?
LeCom Utility Contractors has an opening for an experienced Fleet Mechanic at our location in Warren, Michigan. Our fleet includes pick-ups, bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, trailers, and other related utility construction equipment.
Basic Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills Required
Must have at least 5 years’ experience working as a mechanic. Freightliner, Cummins, Altec, Terex, Chevrolet, Vermeer experience a plus.
ANSI & Dielectric Inspection Certificates a plus.
Overtime will be required at times and schedules will vary some weeks. Must be flexible.
Road calls will be required as needed.
Must have your own tools.
Must be able to obtain a CDL within the probationary period.
Must be self-sufficient and driven with regular and predictable attendance, with minimal supervision.
Adhere to Company Safety Policies
Ability to read, write and communicate in English and respond to emails professionally.
Job Description/Duties
Routine preventative maintenance and service of fleet vehicles.
Accurate documentation of all PM and equipment repairs.
Perform inspections on trucks and trailers to assure vehicles are DOT compliant, safe and road worthy.
Some welding and minor body repair.
Diagnose and repair of hydraulic systems, gas and diesel engines, truck chassis, air/ electric brakes systems, and electrical troubleshooting experience.
Evaluate and complete equipment repairs in a timely manner.
Maintain shop area in a neat and orderly fashion to insure a safe work environment.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
