JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at a full service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Lake Geneva. BASIC FUNCTION: The Banquet Server will set up and prepare banquet room for banquet functions. The Server will also serve and bus tables as well as clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function.QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years Food and Beverage experience
Pleasant and helpful personality
- Neat, clean person with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Must have command of the English language
Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
Able to stand for full shift
Good hearing and vision with or without corrective lenses
Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
Able to carry trays full of food/dishes
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks and put out table centerpieces.
Service to include picking up food from back hall, carrying trays to function location, serve food and clear the food from the tables.
Break down to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, vacuuming.
Maintaining organization of back hall and storerooms.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
Maintain open communication with management and other employees.
Be well organized and efficient.
ENVIRONMENT: Indoor and outdoor environments, working for as long as a function last. Indoor working conditions include walking on a carpeted areas and vinyl areas. Outdoor working conditions include walking on cement and grass.
