The Adecco Group - Counsel US

Provides written/oral legal advice to Staffing Services departments and field operations in areas such as compliance, contracts, collections and litigation in order to reduce potential legal liabilities and assists field management/staff to close contracts. Works under general direction

* Consults with and advises Staffing Services departments and Staffing Services field operations on a wide range of legal issues.

* Negotiates/drafts Staffing Services contracts, including national accounts and partnerships.

* Monitors Staffing Services (non-employment law) litigation and supervises outside counsel.

* Delegates work and provides guidance/training to Attorneys, Paralegals and secretaries.

* Monitors relevant legislation and keeps corporate/division/field management apprised of relevant changes in the laws and their impact on operations.

* Prepares memos, policy statements, and communications to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.

* Communicates with clients, vendors, government agencies and their respective counsel to obtain/provide information and resolve problems.

* Performs other assignments as delegated by General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel.

* Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Law Degree (J.D.) and license to practice law in any state.

Plus, a minimum of four years experience as a lawyer in a corporate environment required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

* Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
