Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will work closely with healthcare professionals in environments such as Level I Trauma Centers, PICUs, ORs, and outpatient clinics, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care tailored to their individual needs. This role is vital in enhancing the patient experience and promoting a safe, comfortable environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
- Assist with basic medical tasks under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Support patient transportation within the facility as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
- Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills.
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with care settings such as inpatient units, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, and teaching hospitals is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
