Overview
The Kolo Bike Park Manager will oversee all operations regarding Kolo Bike Park.
This will include, but is not limited to, park and rental bikes upkeep and maintenance,
staff training, development and scheduling. In addition they will help oversee the bike
rental reservation system, including adding new items, updating items, and checking in
Guests. Along with the other managers, the Kolo Manager is responsible for a seamless
Guest experience. Achieving this will include coordinating with the office staff and
marketing/group sales manager, and flawless hospitality towards our Guests. All
managers will serve as Manager on Duty as needed with coordination and support from the full management team.
- Minimum 21 years old
- Be adept in biking related to the bike park
- Have knowledge and experience with bike maintenance
- Current First Aid & CPR (can be obtained after hiring)
- Applied computer skills (Reservation software, Google Apps, etc)
- Able to work well with a team of employees
- Capable of providing leadership and guidance
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work and lead in stressful situations
- Responsible for own safety and the safety of others
- Good time management and strong organization skills
- Willing to assist as asked or needed
- Able to recognize unnecessary risk and make risk management decisions
- Able to walk uneven terrain for 1/2 mile
- Able to manage reports, a budget, and employees
- Able and willing to work the hours required to ensure operational success
- Able to contractually agree to a commitment through November of the contract year
- Aerial adventure experience desired but not required. Candidates with zipline/challenge course experience could be eligible for an annual salaried
Training/Technical
- Design, manage, and lead ongoing training for bike park staff
- Provide thorough training and resources to assure office team members and
- Manage park facility including upkeep of rental bikes, trails, freeride features, and trash cans.
- Design, manage, and build new trails and freeride features with owner approval.
- Oversee budget for Kolo Bike Park with the General Manager
- Support other managers/owner as needed to ensure accurate financial records are available as requested
- Schedule all Kolo Bike Park staff to maximize the efficiency of facilities while remaining compliant with labor laws.
- Serve as MOD and coordinate schedules with department managers to assure a qualified manager is always on-site, with the exception of an extreme emergency.
- Work closely with group sales team and reservations office to provide a seamless
- Assist the managers, owner, and/or group sales team in planning, scheduling, and executing special events throughout the year to help promote the Adventure Center of Asheville and support various causes.
- Create and maintain clear and accurate filing systems fs for required or prudent business paperwork (rental agreements, expenses by department, maintenance records, etc.)
- Maintain complete and accurate employee files including initial and ongoing training records coordinated with management and training team.
- Maintain files of operating manuals and handbooks
- Complete incident reports/near miss forms for Kolo Bike Park and report to AGM
- Willingness to assist Camp Director and AGM with bike related programs when help is needed.
- Work with AGM and Marketing Director to promote programs
- Work with owner, marketing team, and group sales staff to design and and implement
- Submit regular information, photos, stories, etc. to marketing team for ongoing social media exposure
