Asphalt Quality Control Technician

The Allen Company, Inc., is a leading Road Construction and Asphalt Paving Contractor. Our business operations are made up of limestone rock quarries, road construction, asphalt paving, concrete work, grading, drainage, site preparation, excavation, and utility work.
The Allen Company has expanded to 4 Quarry locations and 5 Asphalt Plants. From providing driveway gravel to paving parking lots to developing major construction sites, we offer a comprehensive line of services. We also cater to developers that require site preparation, excavation, utility work, concrete work, asphalt paving, and road construction.
We are seeking an Asphalt Quality Control Technician in Central Kentucky area to provide asphalt testing in our labs and on the paving projects.

Qualifications:
- Current valid driver's license (Required)
- Asphalt Paving: 1 year (Preferred)
- Superpave Plant Technologist (Preferred)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions & communicate effectively
- Ability to stand for extended periods (5-8 hours) without assistance.
- Ability to work and maneuver equipment on uneven ground and around construction sites.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background, MVR and drug screen.
- Adherence to the company's safety policy & guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform asphalt volumetric and performance testing.
- Use of a Nuclear or Electric Gauge and core drill.
- Perform aggregate gradation tests.
- Maintaining documentation of results.
- Work at asphalt labs and various roadway project locations as Quality Control Technician.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Road Crews, KYTC and Engineering Firm Personnel.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses.
- Willingness to travel to job sites and asphalt plants, as needed.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Must be able to function outside year-round
