What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at The American WoodMill?
Job Summary:
As a CNC Operator, you’ll play a key role in the production process by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce custom cabinetry parts. You'll work closely with our design and production teams to ensure components are cut to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain CNC routers (e.g., Biesse, Thermwood, etc.) for custom cabinet components
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and cut lists
- Set up machines, load materials, and ensure proper tooling and calibration
- Monitor operations to ensure high-quality output and make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine maintenance and report issues or downtime
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize workflow and ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience in a custom cabinet or millwork shop
- Forklift certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
