Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Life Skills Instructor to provide support and assistance to individuals with intelleuctual and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in cooking, baking, art, music, special education, and caregiving, with a passion for helping others achieve independence and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate small group instruction in art, music, life skills, cooking, baking and social skills
- Support clients in developing essential life skills and promoting independence
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to enhance their well-being
- Collaborate with site director to ensure holistic care for clients
- Set up and break down activities
- Facilitate dance and movement
- Facilitate cooking and baking classes
Requirements
- Experience in human services, special education, or related fields
- Knowledge of supporting people with developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and working with people with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction
Shifts vary Monday-Friday 845am-3pm
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Per diem
Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 33 per week
