How you will make contributions that matter:
- Leading, coordinating and maintaining a site food safety program and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) Certification
- IFS Logistics 3.0 (International Featured Standards) Product Safety and Quality
- DQMP (Distributor Quality Management Process)
- Leading, coordinating and maintaining a site Environmental Management System to the ISO 14001:2015 standard
- Leading, developing, coordinating and maintaining a site Operational Excellence Program
- Perform and document DQMP/IFS/EMS/OEP internal and external audits/inspections as scheduled, verifying processes are being followed correctly
- Using root cause analysis and risk assessment tools and techniques to perform investigations and determine appropriate corrective action.
- Maintaining a Quality Management System and all SOPs, GDPs, Facility Controls and a Food Safety Plan (HACCP plan, Food Safety and Risk Management Plan, Food Defense and Security Plan)
- Maintaining an Environmental Management System and all SOPs and Operational Controls
- Maintaining an Operational Excellence Program
- Develop and optimize systems and processes so they are aligned with company strategies, customer expectations, and regulatory compliance obligations (FDA, USDA, EPA)
- Point person for controlling quality and environmental related documentation. Responsible for maintaining the DC documents on third party web repository and regularly reviewing and signing off on documents critical to the food safety and environmental programs such as temperature and calibration records
- Prepare and provide annual training to our programs, and any awareness review training that may take place based off non-conformities or continuous improvement
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives for both the Food Safety, Environmental and Operational Excellence programs
- Prepare agenda and lead monthly, quarterly and annual management review meetings for both the Food Safety and Environmental programs
- Point person for the Distribution Center's Crisis Management, Product Recovery, Pest Control, Waste Management and Recycling, SPCC and Contingency Planning requirements. This would include facilitating exercises and documentation revisions.
- Incorporate safety into internal audits and inspections
- Participate in safety committee meetings.
- Perform mock fuel, chemical and hydraulic spills
- Perform key facility emergency evacuation drills.
- Manage and track site and/or company safety data sheets.
- Support initiatives in Crisis Management, Business Continuity, or similar, as assigned.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
- Auditing experience internal and external
- GFSI and ISO 14001:2015 experience
- Deviation and complaint investigations, including root cause analysis tools and Corrective Actions
- Collecting, reviewing, and interpreting data for trend reports, metrics, quality system reviews and complaints.
- FSPCA Preventative Controls for Human Food training.
- Operations oversight and continuous improvementRequired Experience (4 yrs):
- Leading, coordinating and maintaining Quality, Environmental, and Operational programs
- Applying quality engineering principles, tools and techniques to develop and optimize systems and processes so that they are aligned with company strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Using root cause analysis and risk assessment tools and techniques to perform investigations and determine appropriate corrective action.
- Leadership experience.
- GSFI (Global Food Safety Initiative) certification, preferably IFS
- Reviewing and approving quality assurance procedures and reports.
- Leading and managing internal audits.
- Maintaining SOP’s and Quality Management Systems
- Conducting audits (both internal and supplier)
- Monitoring compliance with ISO and FDA Quality System Regulation standards. Able to work in temperatures varying between 30° – 80° F.
- Travel requirement: up to 25%.
