The Andover Companies is seeking a professional to oversee the examination and analysis of property claims arising from homeowner, landlord, and business owner insurance policies. Key responsibilities include directing all phases of claim file adjustment, including coverage determination, damage evaluation, settlement, legal defense, and service.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluate and confirm policy coverage.
- Assign and direct independent adjusters and experts.
- Set and modify coverage reserves and maintain a timely diary of case assignments.
- Control claim negotiations and provide settlement authority to independent adjusters and legal counsel.
- Authorize payment and/or settlement requests.
- Verify all required state regulations and administrative code claim handling requirements are observed.
- Assign defense counsel, manage litigation and legal costs.
- Attend mediations, trials, or depositions as required.
- Analyze and respond to consumer and insurance department complaints.
- Collaborate on special claims or company projects.
- Assist other claims examiners during catastrophes, vacations, or leave.
- Develop professionally through continuous insurance and claims education.
