Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Manager RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician) to join our Mission Viejo team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. Your expertise in veterinary terminology, animal husbandry, and aseptic techniques will be essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each animal.
- Provide excellent animal care, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring behavior.
- Utilize proper aseptic techniques during surgical procedures.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively to minimize stress.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including kennel areas.
Experience
Candidates should possess a strong foundation in veterinary practices with the following skills being highly beneficial:
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the team.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry principles to ensure optimal care.
- Familiarity with dental terminology related to animal dental care.
- Experience in dog handling techniques for safe interactions.
- Understanding of animal physiology to assist in assessments and treatments.
- Background in pet grooming practices to maintain hygiene standards.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting for conducting diagnostic tests.
