Our Family Vet is an energetic veterinary practice that has served the Bullard, Tyler, and Jacksonville area for over 20 years. Our Family Vet is looking for prospective team members by hiring individuals that enjoy the human-animal bond, enjoying helping people with their pets and participates in teamwork to provide quality veterinary medicine to our clients.
Our Family Vet is looking for a highly motivated individual with an upbeat attitude to join our Grooming team. At Our Family Vet, we want our clients' pets to not only feel good but look good too!
Skills / Qualifications
Ability to work well with a team.
Customer service / hospitality attitude with clear verbal communication
Understand the basics of grooming (experience is preferred)
Be thorough and pay attention to detail
Ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure
Carry out basic tasks on a computer
Time management and organization skills
Must be able to stand, stoop, or bend for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 5-50 lbs.
Daily Responsibilities :
Arrive on time to scheduled shifts
Create a welcoming environment for pets and their owners
Discuss expectations and desires for a pet's groom with the client
Assist and provide high quality grooms per client wishes.
Bathe and Groom Animals
Maintain a clean environment
Properly restrain animals.
Wash, dry, and fold laundry.
Report changes in animal behavior, health, or concerns to Vet or Hospital Manger
Use medical software to invoice, schedule appointments, and check vaccine history
Use electronic schedule to be knowledgeable about upcoming scheduled grooms
Maintain a record of grooming appointment notes
Answer phones for grooming calls, keep messages organized
Work with veterinary staff to ensure pet is medically cared for as needed
Manage daily schedule to groom pets efficiently and send them home on time
Manage anxious pets appropriately (communicate with clinic team lead when medical intervention may be necessary)
Speak with client on exit, discuss groom and if expectations were met
Communicate with management when grooming products are low or need to be ordered
Ensure company policies are being followed at all times
