To fill this role, we need an experienced compounding pharmacy technician or individual with laboratory expertise. A medical background is desirable. Professionalism, cleanliness, and organization are expected. CPhT ceritifcation must be completed within 6 months and is mandatory. We require a self-starter who is highly motivated and can provide three professional references when needed. This position demands physical endurance and mental stability due to its demanding nature.

Responsibilities:
Compounding pharmacy technicians mix various components to create specific formulations of medicines for patients when the available drugs on the market do not suit the patients' needs. For example, a patient may be allergic to individual elements within a drug; a compounding pharmacy technician can create a new version of that medication without those elements. Or an elderly patient may not be able to take a medication in pill form, so a compounding pharmacy technician will make the drug into liquid form- all under the direct supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist. Answering phones, mailing, trouble-shooting, cleaning.
Essenential Functions:
- Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Types prescription information to produce labels.
- Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
- Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
- Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system.
- Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
- Packages medications for dispensing and for delivery.
- Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.

- Operates Point of Sale equipment to complete sale of prescription medication and OTC items.
- Ability to accurately handle money.
Qualifications:
Experience Preferred, willing to train the right proactive person.
- Required: HS diploma or equivalent
- Required: Ability to recognize and identify medications; ability to work as a member of a team; ability to operate personal computers and/or computer terminals; skilled in performing detailed work
- Licenses/Certifications as required by government regulations and business needs. Subject to change. Must be willing to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Test within 12 months of hiring.
- No history of any drug use and/or offenses.
