Full-Time position in Housekeeping and Laundry Department - every other weekend included.
General Description:
Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guides and assigned areas.
Duties:
- Receives assignments from Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Follows cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined for housekeeping department.
- Cleans assigned areas, furnishings, fixtures, according to established housekeeping procedures.
- Cleans floors, dry mops, wet mops, sweeps, disinfects where and when necessary.
- Performs emergency housekeeping where accidents occur.
- Cleans moveable and stationary furnishings and fixtures: Dusts, spot cleans or washes, disinfects when necessary, polished where required.
- Empties and cleans ashtrays.
- Empty, clean and reline wastebaskets with appropriate trash bags.
- Inspects furnishings and fixtures for wear and reports to supervisor.
- Cleans bathrooms (resident, private, public).
- Washes windows and mirrors. Washes walls and doors as scheduled.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Performs terminal cleaning duties according to the established procedures in resident rooms when a resident has been discharged or transferred, and prepares room for new occupant.
- Cleans and rehangs curtains or drapes.
- Send soiled linens to laundry.
- Report observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctions to your supervisor.
- Report supply and equipment needs to your supervisor for replenishment.
- When necessary may be required to assist with laundry.
- Performs other duties as directed by your supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas as directed according to established standards.
- Observing proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques.
- Economical use of supplies, care and use of equipment.
- Keeping up with work demand.
- Cooperating with other employees to promote efficiency and morale of departments.
- Attendance is mandatory.
- Must be clean, well groomed and in uniform at all times.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Physically healthy and strong enough to perform duties.
- Must have yearly TB test or chest x-ray.
- Must be familiar with basic housekeeping functions.
