What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Payroll Specialist, Self-Directed Services position at The Arc Central Chesapeake Region?
The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, work, and connect with their community.
Even though we are the largest self-directed services provider in Maryland with over 3,000 Participant employers enrolled statewide, our Self-Directed Services team is anything but impersonal. The work we do directly supports employers with IDD in experiencing greater self-determination, independence, and choice in their services.
The Senior Payroll Specialist will support payroll processing to ensure a proper and timely bi-weekly self-directed participants employee payroll. The Senior Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate and timely reporting of employee updates, taxes, garnishment, and compliance reports. The Senior Payroll Specialist will facilitate open communication with all participant employees and employers regarding program and internal policy and procedure. The Senior Payroll Specialist must be versatile and able to successfully manage multiple demands and processing deadlines.
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a high level of customer service experience, value accuracy and attention to detail in their work, communicate professionally and in a timely manner with all stakeholders, and work well independently and as part of a team.
This role requires a high school diploma or GED, though a bachelor’s degree in business or human resources is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of experience in Payroll and/or Human Resources. This is a fully remote position, but the candidate must be able to travel to our Linthicum, Maryland headquarters or other Maryland sites for meetings as needed.
