The Arc of Blackstone Valley is a non-profit agency providing services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Service includes 24 hour care.
Our Direct Support Professionals (DSP) provide valuable, supportive care in an inspiring work environment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their community and homes. An essential element of the job is to convey steady encouragement to ensure the growth of skills needed for daily living including establishing high-quality relationships. DSP's promote healthy living, healthcare management, and natural supports. Staff develop skills and abilities to remain calm during demanding situations, while ensuring the maintenance of a healthy and safe home environment. This is a perfect position for students seeking flexible hours and gaining hands on experience in all facets of the human service industry. Weekend hours are required for all position.
Responsibilities for individual supports include: Providing assistance with personal care Implementation of Person Centered Planning goals Implementation of behavior support plan Administration of medication.
Minimum Requirements A high school diploma or GED equivalent; VALID driver's license with a good driving record, auto insurance and vehicle registration Clean criminal background check E-Verify approval at time of hire Must be able to: lift 50 to 75 lbs.; bend/squat, or kneel without limitation.
