Position: Chief Financial Officer
Salary: $104,000 yearly
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8AM-4:30PM, with flexibility
Location: Walton, New York
Responsibilities: Maintain and increase the Financial Resources to ensure the continuity of services and fulfillment of the mission. Assure the effective operation of all services and supports.
- Oversee all financial operations of the agency at multi location operations.
- Lead and manage the Accounting, Personnel, IT, Facilities, and Transportation Departments.
- Assess and evaluate agency’s financial performance with respect to goals, budgets and forecasts, and provide analysis to Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Protect agency’s assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Develop financial strategies to ensure cash flow is appropriate for operations.
- Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
- Prepare budgets by establishing schedules, recommending plans, and by collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data.
- Oversee grant compliance.
- Ensure agency’s compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Finance.
- CPA / MBA strongly preferred.
- Prior CFO or Finance Officer experience in an association and/or volunteer organization (non-profit environment).
- Minimum of 10 years managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting experience (six years minimum as CFO with a budget with multiple sources of revenue).
- Knowledge about Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, State Education Department, and Department of Health strongly preferred.
- Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development.
- Experience with CFR reporting.
- Experience with Form 5500.
- Wide range, in-depth financial knowledge of investment, accounting, financial law, and risk management practices.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Outstanding communication (in person and in writing), as well as presentation skills for any audience.
- Collaborative and transformational organizational leader and team leader for staff.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, time management, and problem-solving skills.
