What are the responsibilities and job description for the Qualified Professional/Director of Services position at The Arc of Haywood County, Inc.?
The Arc of Haywood County has a part-time position open in Waynesville, NC for a Qualified Professional/Director of Services. This is not a remote position. Must have a vast knowledge of working with adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). Experience with residential services, Innovations waiver, community living and supported employment is preferred. Ability to use and learn cloud -based systems such as Therap, QuickMAR and Relias a plus. Works closely with the Executive Director, Director of HR and other team members to maintain quality programming. This person in this position will execute other tasks and responsibilities as assigned and subject to be a moving target. The job description will be reviewed and updated as necessary. This job decription is not intended to outline every duty to be performed.
Education and Experience:
Must be credentialed as a QP (Qualified Professional) or 1. have a master’s degree in a Human Service or Educational field and 1 year full-time postgraduate experience in developmental disabilities or 2. have a 4-year degree in Human Services and 2 years full time post graduate experience in a Human Services field. Must possess working knowledge of North Carolina IDD/IID funding sources. Prefer candidates with experience in the management and oversight of residential services. Supervisory experience. Public speaking skills/experience highly desired. Will also accept candidates who are qualified as an Associate QP seeking credentialing under a seasoned Qualified Professional.
Prior QP experience is preferred. ICF experience a plus! Must have the ability to manage crisis; participate on the internal emergency response team; attend required meetings; ability to multi- task, have proficient data entry, and be detailed and organized.
Roles and Duties of the QP/Director of Services:
The Qualified Professional will: supervise the Direct Support staff , monitor the programs for safety; participate in PCPs and ensure updates are completed in a timely manner; maintain documentation systems; record progress of goals, maintain QP notes and guardian contacts and These are the basic duties of this role however are not limited to this posting. Assisting with CARF recertification, reduction control in risk and incident management, excellent reporting skills, training and modeling. Knowledge of utilization practices, QuickMar, Therap and Relias a plus. Other duties as designated not contained in this posting.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass drug screening
Must pass criminal, background and driver’s records check
Fingerprinting for SBI, if applicable
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Must attend all necessary training, meetings, and required classes.
